We strongly recommend coming to the Bookfair by walking, public transport or bike – Trinity is 200m from the end of the Bath to Bristol bikepath on St Phillips Rd/Trinity St (see map), and the roads around and leading to Trinity & Hydra generally have bike lanes. There is lots of space at & near Trinity & Hydra to lock up!
Coaches – come and go from the main Bristol Bus Station, around 20minutes walk away. National Express provides a service from many locations to/from Bristol Bus Station – see live info & map.
Megabus also serve Bristol and stop in the city centre outside Colston Hall.
Buses – see Bus Info. Bristol’s city centre is 10-15 minutes walk away at the end of Old Market Street. There are multiple bus stops near to Trinity/Hydra on Stapleton Rd, Clarence Rd, West St and Old Market St. There are even more bus stops down in the city centre, some 15minutes walk away. See this bus map (opens as pdf).
Parking – There is not much free parking around the Bookfair. The cheapest & most convenient pay & display parking is in Trinity Centre’s own car park (ie £3 for 4hrs, £4 for 6hrs, £5 upto 12hrs). Street parking nearby is more expensive and usually limited to a max of 2 hours. However there are a few streets nearby where permit & metered parking is not in operation on Saturdays – try Braggs La, Trinity St, Waterloo Rd.
Pay & Display street parking in the area operates Monday-Friday or Saturday from 9am-5pm.
Residential Permit Parking operates nearby from Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. So it’s possible to park where this is in operation, if there’s space! Mainly to be found in side streets off Stapleton Rd.
Please beware of clampers/traffic wardens everywhere near the centre of Bristol (including in Trinity’s car park!).
Disabled Parking – there are at least 4 designated spaces in the Trinity carpark, and we will create more if necessary (please bring your disabled parking badge in your vehicle). From the carpark there are 2 level access entrances to the main building, one with a slight ramp, and then a lift from the ground to first floor.
There is also level access to the garden space, but on a slight incline. If you need any assistance please ask at the Bookfair Infopoint at the main entrance.
